Iran and Qatar strengthen transport relations

Iran and Qatar inked four agreements in the transit, shipping and air transportation fields to further develop their relations and cooperation in this area.

MojNews_ The agreements were signed during a meeting between Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostan Qassemi and his Qatari counterpart in the presence of the Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Sunday.

Qassemi discussed establishing regular shipping lines and transit transportation, as well as increasing flights between Iran and Qatar with his Qatari counterpart.

The Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi is due to depart for Doha on Monday to attend the ۶th Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani in separate meetings with senior Qatari officials in Doha in October had exchanged views on mutual cooperation in different fields.

In a meeting with his Qatari counterpart Ahmad Hassan al-Hamadi in Qatar&#۳۹;s capital city, Baqeri Kani underlined the need for the further widening of bilateral relations.

Baqeri Kani also met with Qatari Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.

Baqeri Kani and Sheikh Mohammed exchanged views on bilateral ties and ways of strengthening and deepening relations.

During their meeting, the two sides discussed the latest regional developments.
