International reaction to Khayyam's launch

Moj News, citing Turkey's Anatolia news agency, announced: While Moscow put an Iranian satellite into orbit, the United States Department of State said that Russia's growing cooperation with Iran is considered a great danger to the international community.

Yesterday, Iranian media reported that the Khayyam satellite, which was launched by the Soyuz launch vehicle from the Baikanor space base, was successfully placed into orbit, and the Iranian Space Organization confirmed the correct functioning of all satellite subsystems.

According to this report, one of the spokespersons of the US State Department claimed to the Anatolia news agency that the US is aware of Russia's action in launching "a satellite with significant espionage capabilities on behalf of Iran".

He continued: The deepening of Russia's alliance with Iran is something that the whole world should see and consider as a deep threat.

According to the announcement of the Iranian Space Organization, the initial stages of the launch have been completed successfully and at the moment of publishing this news, the satellite is being transferred with the orbital transfer block to its final orbit, i.e. 500 km orbit.

According to the work schedule, Khayyam satellite will make 4 passes over Iran every 24 hours, during which commands will be sent to the satellite and telemetry data will be received. In the coming days, the processes of launching and testing the subsystems of this satellite will take place according to the predetermined schedule.

Yury Borisov, head of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), described the launch of the Khayyam satellite as "an important event in the bilateral cooperation between Iran and Russia, which paves the way for the implementation of new joint projects".
