Sweden's parliament announced yesterday (Friday) that assessments of its membership in NATO reduce the risk of conflict in northern Europe. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he has no positive view of Finland and Sweden joining the NATO alliance, as there are many terrorist organizations there.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has previously said that Finland's entry into NATO will be "smooth and quick" as soon as it submits an application.
