MojNews- Hossein Shirzad , who is also the CEO of the Central Organization for Rural Cooperatives of Iran (CORC), said despite the current challenging situation of banks to give financial facilities and loans, CORC has succeeded to settle the debts of the tomato farmers .

Elaborating on the detailed financial procedure of the debt settlement, Shirzad pointed that from September 2019, about 335000 tons, amounting over IR.3326 billion (1$=145000 IR) have been purchased from 13 provinces nationwide, that CORC paid back. 

"East Azarbayjan had sold 1,955,740 kg tomato, amounting 19,557,400,000 rial, West Azarbayjan, 12,680,694 kg, amounting 126,806,940,000 rial and Ardebil 2,195,152 kg, amounting 20, 906, 654, 000 rial. Isfahan, Razavi khorasan, North Khorasan had harvested 6,700,757 kg, 41,872,773 kg and 1,891,303 kg respectively and received 67,007,570,000 rial, 418,727,730,000 rial and 18,913,030,000 rial as well", the official asserted.

Explaining the payment process of the tomato value of the Zanjan, Semnan and Fars provinces, the Chairman of the CORC implied that the tomato farmers of the Zanjan have received about 173 billion rial for about 19,000 tons,Semnan farmers 24 billion rial for harvesting more than 2000 tons tomato and Fars tomato farmers have received  over 1,322 billion rial for producing more than 133,000 tons tomato.

"Ghazvin, Kordestan and Kermanshah have received 66,422,794,000 IR, 24,745,980,000 IR and 806,172,884,000 IR for harvesting about 7000 tons, 2500 tons and 81000 tons respectively. Ranking as the lower province, in terms of tomato producing, Hamedan has harvested 448,387 tons tomato and received 4,138,612,010 rial.
